Super Duper Cooper

Here's an array of pics of Cooper at home. He's been pretty good. We had one really bad day, that may be attributed to gas. Hopefully those gas drops should keep him a little bit happier. He's definately growing fast, which is unheard of with our children. His next weigh-in isn't until right after 3 weeks, but I think I'm gonna take him in to work and weigh him myself sometime next week.
Adam's mom is here, which helps with Maya and Brennan. I'm just trying to figure the little guy out. We've got the nighttime down and I think that's due to having my own time with him. Love our nighttime feedings together. Kids still think he is pretty awesome and continue to fight over holding him. He's 2 weeks old today already!!

Baby Cooper

I know it's been many moons since I've last posted. The obvious new topic is the birth of Cooper on June 13th.
As we hit 39 weeks I was horribly uncomfortable. Typical to most pregnant women I suppose. I went into my appointment on June 12th with hopes of hearing some good news as I had been dilated 2 from about 36 weeks. The news came as a shock, but the little guy managed to wiggle his way up and turned the wrong way. The doctor thought the best option was probably just to do a C-section, which we scheduled for the morning of June 14th. I wasn't planning a C-section by any means, so I was a bit upset, but I wanted the safest birth possible. So, I finished my last day of work on the 12th. Got home about 11:30pm. I woke up around 3:30am starting to feel a little pain in before painfree contractions. I got up of course and started cleaning. It was making me a little nervous that these started. If anyone recalls, I went into labor pretty darn fast with Brennan and I didn't want to go through labor if I knew the best thing for both of us was this c-section. Well anyhow, I awake Adam and just let him know what's kinda going on. We both spent the early morn sleeping on the couches in the living room. I woke up feeling a little better, just a little cautious. I had my pre-blood work that needed to be drawn at the hospital and got that done around 11am. On my way back from the hospital, it started again. It was all irregular, but I knew... I wasn't gonna last to Sunday morning. When I got home, Adam had a hard time understanding the situation, but by 2pm, I called my parents and had them take the kids. Again, I knew we were going to have to go at some point. Around 3pm the contractions were on average 10 minutes apart, sometimes 15 sometimes only 5. We got to the hospital around 4ish and they called my doctor to see what they should do. She agreed that I should still have the section and it'd be best just to do it now, so I was scheduled for 7pm in the OR. By 5:30 my contractions were not my friend. I dealt with them, however when that spinal got started and I was able to lay there painfree, I was loving that we were going this way. I was happy that I wasn't gonna have to push this guy through my crotch. It was exciting. At 6:55 I was wheeled into the OR room, put on the table with bright lights shining down. There were so many people in there, I kinda got a little freaked. The tears started as I was nervous, scared and excited. Once I was hooked up to all the monitors, oxygen and the tent was up they got Adam in the room. I felt like seconds went by when they said you are going to feel a little pressure and as my body wiggled painlessly on the table I heard a crying baby. C-sections are amazing! 7lbs5oz and 19 inches long.... little Cooper Jaxon was born.

C sections weren't so amazing day 2 when I was told to get out of bed and was in a pain I've never had before. Holy shit, I didn't think I was ever gonna be able to walk normal again. But, I'm sitting here with my little man at 1 week old and am doing really well. They told me it would take a good 6 weeks to heal completely, but I'm quite impressed how fast I've seemed to recover. One real nice thing... I have no pain in the crotch area at all. I have about a 6 inch bikini cut. Call me weird, but I don't mind showing it off either. I am so proud of this scar, because Cooper is amazing.

I don't know if it's because it's been 4.5 years since my last baby, or that I'm just a little older and appreciative, but I am loving him so much. He's got a great temperment, he's an awesome eater (yeah breastfeeding is actually going great) and he sleeps. Third baby is a charm. Maya and Brennan love him. They have lots of funny questions... like Brennan wants to know if I make chocolate milk. I think this was a good thing for our family. It feels complete now.

Basement

Not that you can tell what anything is from the pictures, but the basement is coming along. Drywall gets hung today, mudded later in the week! Yeah. Nothing fancy in the basement. Just finished space to use and entertain. There will be a small room to use as a guest bedroom and as a office/exercise room when there is no one staying. It'll be nice for both us and them for guests to have their own area with a bathroom while they stay.

Graduation Day

Hard to believe another school year has come to a close. I'm pretty happy, as I wasn't too excited about their teacher this year. Done with the daily driving. Just a small break before life takes another turn. I was dilated 1-2 last week, we'll see what I am tomorrow. It's getting really exciting for this household. Maya and Brennan are really enjoying looking at other babies right now. It will be interesting to see their reactions when there is one in the house for good. It's kinda funny, cuz it doesn't seem real yet that this change is so close, although all our bags are packed and ready for anything. There is no plan set in stone as of yet, so that too will be interesting. I'm hoping that if a surprise happens it is in the daylight hours to have more options with friends and family and their work schedules. We are so excited to meet our little man. I stare at everybody's newborns on the street and can't stop smiling that mine will be here soon. I thought his name was 100% ready, although it appears that a middle name has not been agreed on. Adam's headed for a Cub/Dodger game this friday... I told him if he's not here when I go into labor the middle name choice is all mine.
Today we spent the afternoon at our neighbors for a BBQ. Even with yucky weather, a good time was had by all. We certainly couldn't ask for a better neighborhood.

Sleepless in Washington

We've had a busy couple weeks and we've had a lot of soccer rainouts. I've been working like a maddog and Adam just got laidoff this week. So things are just crazy! Kids are finished with shool next week, thank goodness. I am done with the taxi driving.
Mother's Day last weekend was great. We took the kids minature golfing. It was somewhat fun. I got whacked in the elbow by Maya, but it was nice to be outside doing something new together. Adam made me a wonderful slideshow of pictures of me and my babies throughout the past 5 years. If you haven't seen it, check out my facebook page... it's awesome.
I've been meeting up with some high school friends planning a 15 year class reunion. Finding people seems more troublesome than what I thought it would be, but again, usually I'm am trying to find time to squeeze in some people investigation.
So I'm 35.5 weeks prego now. Feeling pretty good, yet my hips are killing me at night. I've had some contractions the last few weeks, but none that are actually painful. It just makes me realize how soon the baby is coming. Tuesday is my first internal exam, so we'll see if anything is going on.
Our basement is coming along. Slowly, but surely. Hopefully sometime we'll have the extra space ready to destroy in June. It'll be nice, especially since we'll have extra visitors from time to time with baby Gurewitz. He does have a name and his room is finished! Guess I should get some pictures up. We are all getting pretty excited!!
As for Adam, his last day was officially yesterday. It wasn't a shock, it was more a blessing that he held on this long. Close enough to summer and the new baby. I'm sure him being around will come in handy. Hopefully a new opportunity will come his way soon, so don't worry we are okay and fine. There are a lot of other people in the same situation and a lot of those people are off a far lot worse than us. It's all unknown what could happen at this point, but we know things happen for a reason.
Anyhow, enjoy the pictures. It won't be long and there will be a wrinkly little man all over this thing.
