I feel like so much happens, but I don't have time to share. Somehow Adam needs to make more memory or reconfigure something, cuz this piece of shit mac won't let me download any new photos. So, this will be a naked blog. And too bad for that. Maya got her hair cut last week and it is adorable. Obviously every mother wants her daughter to have nice flowing long hair. Well, mine doesn't. I tried to keep it long, but it was pretty bad. The bangs have been growing out now most of the year, so finally with a bob to her chin, her bangs almost appear to be the same length. It's amazing how much more hair it seems she has.
Memorial Day weekend was full of BBQ's and random activities. Saturday's bday party was cut short when Maya came down with a fever. I am not sure what was wrong, but she was totally fine by the next afternoon. Sunday we went down to Bloomington to see my high school girlfriends. Not all of could make it, and we didn't stay as long as I would have liked, because Maya's t-ball game had to be one of the earlier games. Yesterday our neighbors had us and some other families over for a BBQ. Amazing, the weather was good. Sticky, but good. Excuse me, isn't it supposed to be June next week? Bring on the heat already. I am just hoping for some good, non-rainy or windy weather for next week. It's the annual subdivision sale and we are cleaning house. Mama needs a new patio set... so let's make some $$.
Today starts the Washington Cherry Festival. Nothing really special, but Maya is working on her reward chart this week to get a ride armband. Adam is running the 5K, while the kids and I are walking the 1Mile with our neighbor.
It's nice to have all the tv shows over and done with. I think we have our 2hour Lost season finale thursday and that should do it. I'm sure you'll still find us starring at the TV, only until the novelty of RockBand wears. Oh yes, the man of the house thought we could all play together as a family. I must say I got rave reviews for singing Creep by Radiohead

School's out For Summer
It's weird when everything starts ending. Both the kids are done with school. Soccer is done. Spring gymnastics are wrapping up. We've been so busy with everything. And seriously if I look at our calendar, the next 8 weekends we have stuff going on. I was trying to plan a weekend trip to Kentucky and finally got it squeezed into the first part of August. I'm excited as it's only a 5 hour drive. We'll go to the Louisville Slugger Factory, Churchill Downs, Six Flags, the Zoo and Thomas Edison's house. Next month we are heading to Cali to see the family. We are all excited to hit the beach and just get out of her for awhile.
This weekend a neighbor of our is turning 30, so we have a big party to go to. Sounded like there was going to be too much fun to be had, so the kids are staying at my parents. Hopefully we don't have too much fun, cuz we have to wake up and get the kids and go to Bloomington for my high school girlfriend's reunion. That should be nice and our kids seem to enjoy each others company. We'll have to cut out early for a t-ball game, but it will still be great nonetheless. No plans monday. Good... a day of rest.
Oh yeah, our landscaping is done! They started last week tuesday and finished this wednesday afternoon. It looks pretty good. It will look really nice when all the flowers start to bloom. I'll get some pictures up when I can.

Crazy Day
Today was Bud's last day of school and it was "Crazy Day". So, this morning I was prepared to put him in some miss matched outfit. That is, until the crazy hawaiian outfit shouted at me. There is a time and place for this outfit and today was the day. Thanks to Grandma Rene for picking up this little outfit from one of her Hawaii visits. It fit him well. I added the lei and attempted to give him a mohawk. It is still standing after 7 hours. He thought it was funny. Nobody would know it, but this kid is goofier than his sister. Life is busy, hopefully a full update soon.

Momma's Day

I received my breakfast in bed. Maya and Dad made me chocolate chip heart pancakes. I got a beautiful bunch of flowers. We basically did nothing since the day was pretty dreary. It was nice. We ended the eve with a Peanut Buster Parfait and a game of scrabble, which I got my butt kicked.
I added some pictures of the two that make my mother's day possible. The picture with the cat was my first real mother's day.

Busy Week
It's been a full week of to-do's. We had our first t-ball game on sunday. It was a perfect day weatherwise. The game was funny, as one can imagine watching 3 and 4 year olds learning to play the game can be a challenge. Adam is doing a really good job with all the kids, although it's funny, coach or not some parent for a child is out on the field. Maya seems to enjoy it. Poor Bren wants to play too. Next year bud.
School is finishing up. Hard to believe this year went so fast. Next year they will both be going to St. Pat's, however, Maya will be MWF afternoons and Bren TR afternoons. Brennan got mornings, but Maya didn't, so I tried to switch one so we could be consistent timewise throughout the week. I think Bren should get afternoons. Let's hope. 8:15am is a bit early for him. My kids aren't much for naps, so afternoons should work fine. I still know, Maya could go to kindergarten and do fine, but the birthday exempts that... c'est la vie. Actually, right now, I'm not ready to send her away yet and I don't really want a year of school separating the two kids. They are two peas in a pod.
We took my mom to the pain clinic to start her series of shots in her back again. Yep, we're doing it all again. She had surgery almost 3 years ago, but she's had a hard time again lately. Hopefully the docs can fix her back up.
We have another soccer game this morning, only 2 more games after this. Maya scored at least 3 goals on monday. She is actually figuring it all out. Later this morning we are heading over to my sister's for an early mother's day brunch. I have requested for mother's day itself to remain in bed and have breakfast brought to me. We'll see what happens, but it shall be fun. Maya made me treats at school (which she consumed). During the week she had told me... "Mom, I made you a card with a picture of me in it for mother's day. It's a secret, so don't tell daddy". Gotta laugh at that one. Happy Mother's Day to you all.

Girls Girls Girls
I know about 11 pregnant friends, neighbors or family members right now. Seriously, I could knock on 7 neighbors doors and find them expecting. It is crazy. Something is in the water on this street. To make things even more interesting, out of these 11 people only 4 don't know what they are having, there is only 1 boy and 6 girls. Sometimes I wonder, if we were to have another baby what would I prefer the sex to be. Does it matter, no. Would I secretly have a preference? Yeah. I do, but I'm not going to say. If the whole neighborhood wasn't pregnant I wouldn't be thinking this nonsense anyhow. It's just 4 of these babies are due anyday and I'm eagerly awaiting the news! Yeah!

The Beds Came
Finally, after a month wait, the kids' beds came yesterday. I was slightly disappointed that Maya's white bed, appears cream. I painted a side dresser white after we bought the bed, guess we'll have to get a creamier color. Maya thinks she needs stairs to get into her bed, because it is so high. (It is pretty high) We haven't stuck the mattress on the top of the bunk bed yet, but the kids seem to be excited for that to happen. Bedding IS more expensive than what I thought. Brennan got a clearanced sports set from Sears that I liked and Maya got this simple spread from Wal-Mart. After buying the waterproof mattress covers, pads, extra pillows and bedding I was like wow, even doing it cheap seemed pricey. We're all happy.
Me & Cheese
Anybody who knows me well knows I have an obsession for cheese. Good cheese! I was trying to think where I fell in love. As a kid my cheese was only based upon Kraft singles, occasionally Velveeta, government cheese blocks and the grated parmesan cheese in a can. In high school I remember eating spoonfuls of grated parmesan. I love that stuff and it is still not safe in my refrigerator from snack attack. So cheese must be added to most foods... hamburgers, hotdogs, fish, ham, hashbrowns, eggs.. etc. Everything tastes better with cheddar. A trip to San Francisco in 1999 gave me Gouda. Oh la la, Gouda. I was like, why have I never eaten this before. So I went back home with a new obsession. Meijers in Champagne had an awesome cheese selection. I wasn't used to the more pricier cheeses, but they were worth every penny. I don't think my move to Alaska helped me out cheesewise, but I know there was a delicious Caesar salad I was in love with that was covered with the biggest flakes of parmesan cheese you've ever seen. Everyone knew I was a cheesehead. And then, how perfect, we moved to cheese country... Wisconsin. I think Wisconsin upped my knowledge quite a bit. There was this incredible cheese market, interestingly named Brennan's, that had samples all over the place. It was there 1 year though 7 year old cheddar found a place in our fridge. I'm not sure what age it is, but there is a cheddar that gets these crunchies and is so sharp I love it. The sharper and dryer the cheese... that's what I like. Adam is a creamier person, but if there is one thing I have rubbed off onto him is eating cheese. Trader Joe's makes a really good aged cheese. Unfortunately, the better the cheese, the more money ya gotta pay. I'll treat myself to a good block from time to time, but to be honest, I haven't boughten anything good for awhile. There is no Kraft block that is worth raving about, but it'll treat the hunger in a penny pinch.
What my arteries look like? I haven't a clue. But my cholesterol isn't horrible. Cheese and Ice Cream are my sources of calcium. Mmm.. I'm drooling. Anybody feeling me on this?
