The latest and greatest

I do have pictures on the camera, but I can't find the cord to connect them to the computer at the moment. So what's been going on? Well, Grandma and Grandpa flew in from LA over valentines weekend. We had a great visit. Grandma and I got to do some baby shopping. I'm not sure, but I just don't remember getting ready for Maya or Brennan like I am now. I look at baby clothes and I get so excited and you can't beat the clearance winter gear. This by far is the most enjoyable pregancy. Maya is always asking me how "the bud" is doing and always kissing my stomach. Brennan looks at his toys and says that he wants to give them to the baby. Sometimes I think, oh gosh, back to the diapers, feedings, carseats, 3 in a grocery store....etc, but really we are All excited for the addition and the fun it's gonna bring. My body is doing pretty good so far with this pregnancy. He's a kicker, but gentle this far. Winter has been great covering up this pregnancy. I've barely needed any maternity wear so far. I have one pair of prego jeans which come in handy for those easy access sudden bathroom moments, but I have 2 normal pairs of jeans that button so low that they seem to still work. I will be 24 weeks on thursday. How time is flying, when you start thinking 2 week appointments are around the corner.
Oh yeah, back to grandma and grandpa. We travelled down to St. Louis and went to the science center one day. It was fun to get out of the Ptown area and the kids really enjoyed themselves. They had "Sue" the T-Rex from the field museum displayed. This was the kids first look at a dino. It was pretty cool. Hopefully we'll get some pictures soon.
This weekend Maya and I are heading to Iowa for my cousin's baby shower. I'm excited to see all the new things that are out there. Speaking of, beware of a baby shower in the making. My mom and sister are throwing me one since they've never had a chance to do that for me before. Frankly, I've never gotten to go to a store and scan items before either, so that is exciting for me. There's so much out there that wasn't there 5 years ago. It's crazy. I've already received a Bumbo! Yeah. I really think those things are so neat and babies look so cute. Anybody know of any other must haves? Does anyone know of anyone who wants to get rid of a white changing table?
On the workfront, Adam's company took another fall last week losing some more business. I actually didn't think he would make it through after that, but thankfully he did with a paycut. A job with a paycut still equals a paycheck in my book, so hopefully we can continue to get through these depressed times. I know we aren't the only ones in the position. I try not to worry, but sometimes my emotions about everything in general get the best of me. I on the other hand have been working my ass off. I have never felt part-time at the hospital and am having a really hard time balancing everything. Besides wednesday nights, I don't think I watch any TV even. A mom is a hard job, a working mom is even harder. But, I absolutely love my job. I love the patients I meet and actually give me self-gratification. My kids do too, but it's different in the health field. I don't know.
So as Lent begins tomorrow, I will try my best to keep this site up a bit more. I have told myself that there will be no facebook (except sundays). I waste so much time on that site whether it's playing games or just keeping up with others. I think my kids would rather I sat down and played a game with them.
Alright, all rambling must come to an end.

2016 Olympian

So sometimes Adam's talents come in handy. He was able to go to see Maya's gymnastics class the other day and he made this video. Make sure to turn up the sound to get the proper enjoyment. I thought he did a really cute job. Enjoy!

It's the brother

I have been horrible with this blog. Partly, cuz I haven't taken any pictures. Tuesday we got to go in to see the baby again. Well, the sonogram was to ensure my cyst was okay, which it is... there was some residual, but it had definately decreased in size. Nobody wants to believe my theory that Maya burst it with a toss of a book, but I continue to believe that is what happened. Anyhow, the little guy seems to be happy, healthy and growing in the belly. He weighed about .75 lbs and was between 10 and 11 inches long. He kept his head stuck to the wall, so we didn't get a great profile shot, but that is fine. We'll see him in the flesh soon enough. We were able to see him open and shut his mouth as well as his little tongue moving around. I'm just over 21 weeks now and the belly has definately popped out. Adam has finally been able to feel the little guy. He seems to like to move the most at bedtime... go figure.
Other than that, things are going alright. Kids are excited for our valentine visitors (grandma and grandpa). I'm excited because baby bedding is in the mail! We're going with the green and brown elephant set I saw at JCP.com. I fell in love with it when I first saw it. Brennan never had a set, so it's kinda fun to do this again. The best part is having two children who are just as excited as we are to add to the family.
On the workfront, Adam has finished up at CAT and is one of the lucky few who have still managed to hold on to a paycheck. Hopefully his company can find some additional work to prosper in the future. He's been working at a downtown office and from home doing what he can to assist with marketing. I'm continuely hoping that something will turn this economy around soon, for everyone's sake.
Well, enjoy the snapshots. I freak out when I look at my timeline... is it really only 18 week and 5 days before he is here? Why does that seem so close?

Crazy Kids

My kids are so strange. First it's Naked Scrabble, which come on, could be fun and then it's let eat our snack like Stella. My favorite is Stella's look as she watches the kids eat their snack in her spot like she would.
Belly shot 19 weeks. It's getting there.

The surprise ultrasound

So what happened you ask? Monday night after dinner I was getting ready to go to the gym with Adam. I had decided I wasn't gonna do the pump class cuz I just wasn't feeling right, but maybe I'd walk to treadmill. Well, I'm changing into my work-out gear and I start feeling a pain on my right side. Kinda crampy, but constant. Nothing that went away. I decided I'd better stay home. So I rested while the rest of the family went to the gym. While I was on the couch the pain intensified. It hurt to turn my body and the area was tender to the touch. That night I had the hardest time sleeping, as it hurt to move. I was getting really nervous as I had never felt like this during my other two pregnancies. I was scared there was something wrong with the baby. I thought oh crap, it's my gall bladder or appendix. Anyway, tuesday morning I called the doctor. And they scheduled me for an immediate sonogram to see what was going on. It appeared I had a 4cm cyst. Adam thought they said an ovarian cyst, I thought they said it was on the wall so not sure where the location really is. But it is outside of the baby, so there's no reason the baby is in any danger. It's more the pain I had to endure... but seriously I can deal with the pain... tell me my baby is okay. And yes, we got to that too. We got to see our little man. What, surprise... it's a boy. I'm super excited, but I swore up and down my instincts said it was a girl. So our little guy was measured up and appears to be 3 days ahead of the original due date. That made me happy, cuz I feel so small I thought he wouldn't be a proper size. All in due time for me to turn into large marge. Anyways that's the story. Today I woke up with no pain, no tenderness. I'm not sure what happened. I'm sure we'll have another ultrasound in the coming months to make sure everything is okay, but so far so good. Time to shop for a baby boy!
