Crazy Kids

My kids are so strange. First it's Naked Scrabble, which come on, could be fun and then it's let eat our snack like Stella. My favorite is Stella's look as she watches the kids eat their snack in her spot like she would.
Belly shot 19 weeks. It's getting there.

The surprise ultrasound

So what happened you ask? Monday night after dinner I was getting ready to go to the gym with Adam. I had decided I wasn't gonna do the pump class cuz I just wasn't feeling right, but maybe I'd walk to treadmill. Well, I'm changing into my work-out gear and I start feeling a pain on my right side. Kinda crampy, but constant. Nothing that went away. I decided I'd better stay home. So I rested while the rest of the family went to the gym. While I was on the couch the pain intensified. It hurt to turn my body and the area was tender to the touch. That night I had the hardest time sleeping, as it hurt to move. I was getting really nervous as I had never felt like this during my other two pregnancies. I was scared there was something wrong with the baby. I thought oh crap, it's my gall bladder or appendix. Anyway, tuesday morning I called the doctor. And they scheduled me for an immediate sonogram to see what was going on. It appeared I had a 4cm cyst. Adam thought they said an ovarian cyst, I thought they said it was on the wall so not sure where the location really is. But it is outside of the baby, so there's no reason the baby is in any danger. It's more the pain I had to endure... but seriously I can deal with the pain... tell me my baby is okay. And yes, we got to that too. We got to see our little man. What, surprise... it's a boy. I'm super excited, but I swore up and down my instincts said it was a girl. So our little guy was measured up and appears to be 3 days ahead of the original due date. That made me happy, cuz I feel so small I thought he wouldn't be a proper size. All in due time for me to turn into large marge. Anyways that's the story. Today I woke up with no pain, no tenderness. I'm not sure what happened. I'm sure we'll have another ultrasound in the coming months to make sure everything is okay, but so far so good. Time to shop for a baby boy!

My favorite sandwich

I'd like to take this short blog entry to give gratitude to Mika's coffeeshop in Eureka for serving the most simple, delicious sandwich. I could eat one everyday, but at $6 a pop it seems I shouldn't. Perhaps I will make them myself. So I bet you are all wondering what this piece of heaven is. It's nothing more that a grilled goat cheese and apple slice sandwich. I get it on the herbed flatbread. Now, everyone knows I'm a cheese lover, but I never sat around eatting goat cheese prior to the fetish of this sandwich. You'd think apples on a sandwich would be a bit strange, but it works. There is supposed to be roasted peppers on it too, but I omit them. Yum Yum Yum.
I essentially have no craving and never really have. I seem to use pregnancies as a way to eat all my favorites. Donuts, cakes, pizza, cheeses now the goat cheese sandwiches. I eat plenty of normal stuff too, don't you worry.
Two thumbs up Mika's.

(11 days and counting until THE ultrasound)

Christmas Pics

Misc of the past month

I've been so bad at updating this site the last few weeks. Partially because I just don't get out the camera as much as I should, and partially because I have no time. I am more than happy that these holidays are over. Although, I don't think any holiday pictures have been downloades. Suppose those are to come in the future. Maybe later today if I can get my act together. So there are a few pictures of the kids with some friends of ours at a play we went to early december. Franklin's Family Christmas. The play itself was a bit silly, but the christmas music was nice and the kids seemed to enjoy it. There's also a couple pics of the kid's christmas show. Unfortunately those pics are a bit hard to make out. It was 10 minutes of craze. The kids were excited to preform and did a good job. The girls sang the "O come let us adore him" verses of "Come All Ye Faithful", while the boys sang the "Rum Pa Pum Pums" to Drummer Boy. Together they sang "Rudolph". As you can see Maya was pooped after that. We went to a neighbors house for New Year's. Wasn't a big celebration, but it was nice. New Year's Day we took off for Starved Rock. We thought it would be fun to get out of dodge a few days and the resort seemed like a close enough place to do somehting spur of the moment. The kids enjoyed it a lot. Definately worth getting a group of people together and hanging at a cabin for a future weekend. Being winter, there's not too much to do. The indoor waterpark and small amusement center is about it, but summer has the trails and rafting that could be fun. The kids loved the wave pool and the lazy river. They were srivelled little raisens by the days end. Today is the last day of Adam's break. With lots of changes happening at CAT, we're just hoping he can manage to keep his job. I on the otherhand am picking up an extra day a week. It'll be day hours, so that won't be so bad, plus it will typically be wednesday which means, I will be home when the all new Lost resumes this month! Yeah. Yeah, of course if it worthy of watching.
I'm hanging in there at 16.5 weeks pregnant. The tummy is there, but still no need for maternity wear yet. We find out what is growing in there on the 20th. Then the real excitement will begin. I met with my 3 prego girlfriends yesterday. How fun it is going to be when we all have these little ones. I'm due the 18th of June, one is having a c-section on the 20th of June and the other is due July 10th.
