Happy Birthday Brennan

We celebrated Brennan's bday yesterday with a party at the house. It was fun and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We had 30 people in this house, but it didn't seem like it. I made the kids Brennan's favorite foods: corndogs, mac n cheese, jello jigglers and had fruits and veggies and made pulled pork for the adults. It was my first attempt at the pork and it turned out pretty good. Adam left that morning to play flag football with a group of guys so, thank goodness our babysitter, Alexis, came over and helped out. Brennan's theme was sports, Steeler's football, so Adam's job for the party was to make an obstacle course for the kids to run through. It was a beautiful day outside thank goodness, so he had cones for the kids to run through, a soccer ball to kick into the goal, walk across the balance beam and then throw the football threw the weeble football man. They seemed to have fun with it. Then we did a craft, which was simply foam pennants with stickers and letters. Finally cake and presents. Delicious cake and great gifts. I had said that presents weren't necessary (cuz seriously they weren't)but everybody brought him something. One gift from our neighbor was a donation to St. Jude in Brennan's name. I thought that was a very good thing to do. Happy Birthday to my baby boy. How can you be 5 already?

Hanging with Mr. Cooper

Just a few randoms of Cooper. He is such a good baby. He's out of that baby whiny stage and just enjoys grabbing everything and putting it all in his mouth. He loves his baby food. Sweet potatoes, carrots and prunes. He wasn't too fond of peas, but we'll try them again. I weighed him last week and he was 15 lbs. He's growing too fast. He is very loved by all of us!

Time for another pictureless post. We had the most amazing weather this weekend with temps in the 70's. The kids played outside, rode their bikes and just ran around with the neighbor kids. Cooper, enjoyed sitting in his stroller watching us clean up the garage. So it's not sparkling, but 2 cars can again fit into it. We also took the opportunity to put up our christmas lights. Our community here in Washington is amazing... There is a little boy, 2 1/2 years old named Dax. He has suffered from a rare form of leukemia since last July. If you remember us going to Nashville, TN last year, he was why. It was his benefit we donated the money to St. Jude's for the trip. In fact, I am almost 95% sure, it was the night of his benefit that brought Cooper to life. Anyways, the story of Dax and his family is heart wrenching. After going through several treatments, the cancer has spread to his spinal column, where there is nothing more that can be done. He was given 4-6 weeks to live. I continuely cry about this. I put myself in Dax's mom's shoes and I can't even begin to fathom what to think. I look at each one of my kids and know my life would lose so much if I lost any one of them. I thank God everyday that I have had healthy kids. So, for Dax, Washingtonites are putting up their christmas lights outside for him to enjoy. Also, to show the love and support for this little boy. His family shows so much strength it is so admirable. To know what is going to happen, and live each day full of happiness and love is truly amazing.
